Kitchenwareby whiterookComment: What a shame the focus isn't a little crisper, as I do like the composition; the photo has the hint of narrative about it, rather than being a straight record shot - I find myself exploring the picture, wondering about the lives of the people who live here. If you didn't use it, some sharpening in photo editing would be beneficial. |

Ghost in the Machineby robaComment: Ooh, I want one, I want one - the Kitchen Aid, that is, not the ghost! A similar idea to the one I came up with, but didn't enter as however hard I tried, I couldn't get my 30 year old Kenwood Chef to look photogenic! That said, I would never have been able to produce a photograph as good as this, well composed, good choice of exposure, and very well presented. |

n 27(07) Étude d'un femme vue en buste, inachevéby silverfoxxComment: I really, really, really like the 'photo' part of this, but I also really dislike the lower 'sketch' part of the image; I would much prefer a nude photograph, and I feel that you would have carried it off in a tasteful manner. I am only going to give a 6, largely because I feel the transition from sketch to photo doesn't work particularly well here. Nonetheless, it was an interesting technique to try out, and may be worth exploring further; I do admire the fact that you have tried something new and bold. |

DAVID-BLAINE-002.jpgby jblaylockraynerComment: Owph! I feel sick just looking at this - the things we do for a photograph. Well, OK, I don't have the guts for anything adventurous, but I certainly apreciate this - you got a good 'un! |

The Future Lance Armstrongby timfythetooComment: Timfy/Aimee, you need to get your needle and thread out! That grin is getting worryingly mischievous ;¬D . Love the way he is holding the bar - real 'attitude'! Also glad to see he is wearing a helmet - the first day my youngest came of her stabilisers she cycled smack into a concrete lamp post and split her helmet in two! |

Retrospectby L1Comment: Laurie, the 10 was mine; I am so surprised and disappointed to find that this only placed at 126. You used the contre-jour technique effectively, and in the way that I understood it to mean; the photograph is well composed and aesthetically pleasing, and holds lots of interest outside of a mere study of the technique. All in all, very good work - and the fact that it is a photo that has such personal meaning for you makes it even more special; I am glad that you are able to use photography as a way of coping with your grief - I am sure Byron would adore this photo! |
