Simplicity by Nature's Artistby

Dr. Venter. First of all you have a wonderful eye for images. I have looked through your portfolio, and you have captured many fantastic images. Your images are original and are aesthetically pleasing, and therefore most of them do well in the challenges.
You have entered 60 challenges with an average percentile of 55%. However, your improvement is significant. For your first 30, you averaged in the 52%, and in the most recent 30, you are averaging just below the 60% percentile. So either your skills are improving or you are getting better at knowing what the dpc voters like. Probably a little of both.
As for this image:
Aesthetics:
I like two other images of yours better. "Inspired by Jinjit" and CRW_9447. Both of those have nicer colors and a "cleaner" subject. I suspect the reason this image did not score better is the cluttered, randomness of the surrounding weeds or grass.
Originality:
This is not an image that will win a lot of Originality points. There are just a lot of them out there, so it's easy for the viewer to quickly pass it up.
Criteria:
This image certainly met the criteria of the challenge.
Technical:
I don't have any technical suggestions. I'm assuming that you selected the fast aperture to reduce the depth of field and blur the sun.
Conclusion:
Keep up the good work. You are a talented photographer with a good eye. I look forward to seeing more of your shots in the future.
