Feels like a vertical orientation on the camera might have created a more dynamic sweep of the foreground plant/ coral and simplified the composition ?

Creative use of lighting is working to raise this picture above what it might have been. I think some more work on the light could really enhance this further though.

I really like what is happening with the leaf and the light in the lower left of the picture. I'd be tempted to crop quite hard down to just the leaf, to get rid of the solid, vertical line of the trunk/ branch in the right hand side, which acts like a big barrier/ guide out of the picture

good use of light to isolate the subject and DoF to bring us along the neck.

Great, tight portrait. Lovely light, big smile, good catchlights in her eyes.

A really happy picture.

Nice and tight portrait, with something going on. Background is quite busy/ close to the subject though - perhaps more separation would help, if you couldn't go to a larger aperture. Some light in her eyes (e.g., bounced from a reflector) would really liven them up. The light seems very even and soft (cloudy day?) which is a good choice for portraits.

Strong concept, with the heart shape and the hands/ stomach. The overall lighting seems very dark/ gloomy though which doesn't enhance the feel of 'life'

Interesting light on her face - reflecting from the present ? I think capturing a different expression/ eyes open might give more of a feeling of 'life'
