Centripetalby the99Comment: Should have been top 5. Great image. Perfect execution of in-camera radial blur.

No one must tell you when to stopby the99Comment: This may not be a portrait but it is a most powerful picture with a touching story and fitting title. This picture is a clear example of how art overpowers any technical shortcoming. Congratulations on such a great photograph Claudia. You knew it is not the kind of photo that scores high in DPC, but that does not matter because I am sure it will be appreciated by those who look for artistic value.
ETA: Congratulations on the posthumous award too !!! Message edited by author 2012-10-08 01:03:50. |

Thanks a lot! In fact the sun being right behind her, she should theoretically be quite dark. As a consequence, I decided to deliberately add (virtual) frontal light sources (mainly from her right). And since the sun's reflection appears right between her 2 feet, I went for that choice, which looks strange from an analytical point of view, but was what worked the best in my eye. Choices, choices... |
Sorry, I meant to say her RIGHT LEG (only) but I omitted the word 'leg'. I think the overall lighting is perfectly coherent except for her right leg. Again, major nitpicking here as the photo is spectacular. |
