T4 - Garden Terminatorby DennisFComment by FranziskaLang: In my interpretation of the challenge, you were supposed to get up close and personal with a real life insect, this does not meet my interpretation. But it obviously meets yours, otherwise you wouldn't have submitted the shot.
As for the photo, l like the composition, there's a bit more room in front of your bug than behind it, love the red flowers that are mirrored a little bit in the reddish tones on the bug. Not sure if that would be possible to achieve in this setting ,but the background seems a bit cluttered which stops the subject from standing out more. You'd probably need more room between the bug and the stuff in the background to achieve some blurriness and that would change the setup of the photo and turn it into antoher photo ... |

All in a Rowby DennisFComment by ellamay: Would of liked this one a bit more if the bottom left (ground?) was cropped out. The light coming in between the first and third is IMO very nice and would like this highlighted more(the crop would also do that) and take focus from the sort of blah bottom. just my thought. |

All in a Rowby DennisFComment by Gordon: very well exposed/ finished to give a soft glow to the final shot. Would probably look good as a large print on the wall. Calming and not very exciting, in a good way.
Only gripe would be the extreme foreground element in the bottom right that shouldn't be there - it adds a 'heavy' dark element that spoils the overall feel for me. |

All in a Rowby DennisFComment by chalcone: Those bannisters need to be cleaned, or you could have focused more on the cleaner upper half to minimize distraction. |

Tribute to the Cowboyby DennisFComment by ellamay: HMM, i am trying to comment on all the shots, I really like the building in the background. And think I would like the shot more without the monument, but being that is the challenge, I am not sure. I guess the comp is ok, it is in focus, lighting is not bad. So mostly I think lacking 'wow' factor. good job with the tech part, keep up the good work. |
