trifoliumby krnodilComment by Dirt_Diver: Nothing is really popping out at me because it is all the same color. I think there is too much blur and everything is the same brightness. If the BG was darker it would really make this clover pop. |

snowy waxwingby krnodilComment by jaysonmc: Terrific snow shot. You must be far up north. Terrific composition and good use of the B&W treatment. |

- - - -by krnodilComment by posthumous: How dare you make this grainy and unfocused? People need to see every grain of these wooden beams! Don't you know that some people live in the desert? They've never seen wood. And here you come along and rob them of the experience. And for what purpose? To create a mood. To create a photograph that exists for its own sake. How terribly selfish of you. Why, this isn't a picture of a ceiling at all. It's an old tower of an old castle, where I am prisoner. The darkness is the future that I am compelled toward. You are becoming a teller of stories, the old woman who lies to children just to scare them into being good. You are practicing magick, and people have been locked in dark towers for that crime! |

tone mappingby krnodilComment by posthumous: What a ridiculous use of tonemapping. You've made half the picture look blown out and overexposed. You've utterly abused this technique in order to make a picture of a concrete garbage bin into a frightening fantasyland where winter and summer battle for control of a harsh world. Ice blinds me and bugs bite me at the same time. The planet threatens to crack open.
I have seen hundreds of reverent but utterly pointless tonemappings, only to discover you wielding this dangerous power for an actual purpose. You have dared to betray mundane reality and foist your own interpretation on it. Be warned, you have ventured into the realm of the artist. It is a realm where emotions run high and discontent is always right around the corner.
Are you sure you don't want to take studio shots of jewelry and puppies? |
