Great shot – I could just eat an apple about now!

I see no deep shadows though. It has a lack of contrast that I suspect has come from adjusting brightness/contrast on an out of calibration monitor. It's a real shame 'cause it's great otherwise :(

If the triangle of shadow on the right looks black and featureless on your display then I think your monitor need calibrating.

A nice composition, especially the way the fence starts in one corner and the road in the other. The picture is a little overexposed though. The road and trees in the sunlight have burnt out. The cameras light meter was likely fooled by the shady foreground – strong sunlight and shadows can be very tricky.

Nice picture and range of colours – not to sure about the posts though. Maybe try cropping them off. The colours would have been even more vibrant with a little less exposure. There doesn’t seem to be any deep shadows because of the slight over exposure, so the image lacks punch.

I like the shadows and the patterns on the leaf. It may have been better if the whole leaf was visible. The small distraction of light background in the bottom left corner could likely of been lost with a small change in camera position.

It’s a shame the sky is so flat and dull. It’s a nice subject that needs a little more vibrance – perhaps a small boost of contrast would help. The foreground starts to far away for me. A lower camera position would have helped with that.

I like the trees. Somehow I feel that I should want to follow the path but it just isn’t drawing me in. A much lower (or higher) camera position may have helped. If you had been further towards the left of the path I suspect more of the distant part would have been visible drawing me deeper into the picture.

An interesting picture. The horse blends into the background though, which robs it of impact. Another angle may have helped, perhaps down very low and closer in with a wide angle would have placed at least the horses head against the sky if no other contrasting background could be found. It’s a shame that the rear of the plough has been clipped off.

I would have preferred it if the “hole / gap” was off centre. My eye is drawn straight to that gap but is disappointed to find nothing there. If you could have found a position that placed something in the gap, an interesting branch or whatever, then I would have gained the rewarded my eye was seeking.

The “border” is too wide for me and a splash of colour may have helped.

I like the composition. To me the inverted face in the bead needed to be pin sharp to make it the focal point. With a sharper image and better contrast I would have rated this picture quite highly. Stronger diffused lighting and more accurate focus are all that are lacking.
