i've looked at this now a few times, and sadly its 10iness isn't strongly apparent enough... if you rotated the picture 90 degrees, and had less overlap between the things (cycle stands?) i think it would be more successful. the background is a bit overpowering too - maybe a play with the burn tool or somesuch to darken it might help? otherwise, it's good, it's a creative application of street furniture, but for me doesn't have that little sparkle. 6.

interesting idea, but the picture would be better if you didnt have the glare on the glass.

A very nice shot under tough shooting conditions. My only suggestion is to crop a little off the right side to eliminate the plants across the street. The corner of your display window provides a leading line right to it and my naturally followed.

cool idea, I wish you hadn't of cut off the leftmost ring (on the side or bottom) or had cropped the rightside one to match at least, maybe a boost in contrast and saturation could help bring this photo out, I really like the angle that you shot from and I like how the top and right side of the pic looks, interesting patterns

On the first 15 pictures I see, I'm looking for a full 30 seconds and leaving a comment...boy not everybody is going to see those 10s. The picture has very cool tones and I think I wish they were warmer. Composition isn't bad, although I would have tried to include the "1" in the largest ten. 5

Hello from the Critique Club!

One of the first things I noticed was the guard rail in front of the ride. Since it is in sharp focus, and occupies the bottom 1/3 of the photo, it has become a major element of this shot, but doesn't add much to the overall impact. The second element that captures my attention is the "Playball" sign. This is an important part of the photo, however I feel that it is cropped too close to the left edge. It would help the feeling of this is there were a little bit of the background showing to the left of the "P".

You have done a great job of capturing the motion blur. There is a real feeling of movement and yet enough detail that you can still make out that this is a carnival ride. The lights on the ride are what really bring this out.

After looking through your portfolio, I found this picture you took:

I am really curious to know why you didn't enter this shot. This shot has a much better composition and a more dramatic feeling of motion, but that is just my opinion.

Finally, welcome to DPC! I hope you have as much fun participating on this site as I have. It has been a wonderful learning experience for me.
