castleby mambaComment by dwterry: The sharpening on this one seems just perfect. The edges are very distinct without much (if any) halo around them.
It still looks like a little bit of banding in the sky. I've also seen banding occur when applying a neat image or a gaussian blur to the sky (usually an attempt to hide noise). If you're doing either of these, you just need to keep it subtle and then the banding will go away.

Well you didn't come for the weatherby mambaComment by levyj413: Way oversharpened, unless you wanted those halos around every edge. It looks like the castle is glowing. Also, the composition seems too heavy on the sky. It makes the castle look very small. |

edinburghblueby mambaComment by dwterry: One other potential cause of banding is if you use the hue/sat adjustment and push only the blue, or only the cyan. You generally have to push both of them or you end up with banding.
There's also a slight bit of haloing showing up on the left side. I usually combat that by doing my sharpening, and then using the history brush at about 30-50% to paint out the parts that turned out too sharp.

edinburghblueby mambaComment by violinist123: Nothing screams digital like banding in the sky. Back off on the saturation and you should be in good shape. |
