A fairytale casualty

Comment by Rebecca:
It was macro, but not obviously so, and not very abstract. An abstract shot tends to be one in which it's not immediately obvious what you are looking at, and this is very quickly obviously a dragon statue. Regarding the macro end of it, you may have known that it was 3" tall, but that's not something we can tell in the photo. There's nothing in the photo to scale it, for one. Also, the white background does nothing for the dragon, and is actually rather dull, like a t-shirt that's been through the wash too many times. The image is a bit flat, with some reflection issues, particularly on the dragon's chest. I think this would have done better on a black background, more dramatic lighting, and a much tighter crop.

well, I didn't vote in this challenge, but if I had I would have told you that it barely meets the challenge, if at all. that's because it is instantly identifiable, despite the challenge description clearly stating that your shot should be an abstract that is not instantly identifiable.

I love this. Then again, I love dragons, but this is exceptional. At first, I thought it was just smoke and flame when I saw the thumbnail. But, it's still cool.
