red.JPGby TemperpolkComment by chimericvisions: Ditto what howzitboy said. If you want to get that close to your subject, make sure you set your camera to Macro focus. Some sort of neutral background would have been a good idea. Also, a tripod instead of the flash at that range. Almost all of the highlights are completely blown out. |

Hiding from the Sun.JPGby TemperpolkComment by chimericvisions: You were likely doing this handheld, but the thing that sticks out to me is the amount of noise in the photo. Looking back, though, you're using a P&S, so this may be partly unavoidable.
The halo is nice. Use of a polarizer could have brought out a deeper blue in the sky which would have benefited, I think. |

Clear Cardoby TemperpolkComment by Pug-H: A spiky thing! The background has too many busy elements. I would also have tried getting down lower and shooting it against the blue sky (if a blue sky was available at the time, of course).
