The use of the negative here doesn't add anything photographically for me, and if it was meant to convey meaning metaphorically the meaning is not clear.

Not sure the real color of the statue, but looks like there is a yellow cast to it. If so, I would suggest working on the white balance next time.

A good idea, but the lighting doesn't work. The flowers need to have more light, especially towards the back, where they're lost in shadow. It would work better to be able to see the contrast of the flowers against the dark background. To get this to work, you'll need to pull the subject several feet away from the background, then light just the subject. Put a piece of cloth or something between the light and the background, to keep the background dark.
