Isn't that funny - there is a brown female mallard in this challenge with brown reflections in the water, and here we have a bright male mallard, with nice bright water and reflections - they're made for each other . .

I love the bird of paradise flower. This is such a beautiful photo of it. I really wish you would havae it on a white background so the color of it stood out on it's own. Also wish you could have gotten rid of the shadows. This is such a georgeous sample of this specimen. Still a great photo with really nice focus and cropping. Rates an 8 as it is.

The perspective, use of aperture and color of this shot are wonderful.
The background provides good contrast, but the lower right surface is pretty ugly. The white border doesn work very well.

Composition and color makes this a good photo.

I like the lighting and composition a lot. It looks like you've used quite heavy sharpening here (the white line around the subject). I would perhaps have gone for a dark colour border too. 6
