Definitely a still life - as many in this challenge are not. I think the crop is a bit too tight. I'd like to have the wine/glass less centered with more negative space around it. I think the graininess might suit it better, if the glass and bottle were old. But having said that, the focus and composition is good. Still giving pretty high marks as you "got it" and many did not. LOL 7

This meets the challenge – it’s inanimate and arranged. Complete composition - stylistically consistent. 7

ay-yi-yi. yeah, this is a candid opportunity, but how did you shoot it. this looks like a crop of something you shot from a mile away, under very bad conditions. i bet if you had approached him and talked with him a moment, you probably could have gotten a fantastic shot, as well as had a meaningful engagement with another human being. as is, i feel completely isolated from him, like i'm looking at an empty image full of potential.

(as a side note, when i'm out shooting around, i carry a case of water in the car, not just for me, but also to share with people like this. you never know who you're gonna meet or if you can help them, but, all the same, everybody gets thirsty...)

Comment by GrayGhost:
Nice idea and execution of flash / exposure shot. Consider bumping up both contrast and saturation to compensate for loss due to motion/partial exposure.

Nice arrangement. Thanks for a full range of levels with B&W! More DOF would be better.

Comment by BrennanOB:
The focus is to narrow and too forward here, everything from her ring back is OOF. Also the lighting is pretty harsh, a bounce source over to the right, even someting as simple a a sheet of white paper would provide modleing and smooth out the exposure. I like what I can see here, I just wish I could make out more of it.

This would be a much better shot with good focus. Try using a tripod with a longer shutter speed.

I think a tripod would have made a world of difference in this very interestingly conceived shot. Very good idea.
