It's not very interesting to me. I don't mind the cropping, in that the lamp post butts the top of the image, but I think showing more of the pole of the street sign would have emphasized the vertical lines and would have made the sign a divider between the two black halves of the picture, which for me would have added greater interest.

Very harsh lighting. I learned here, that flash in the night shots is very rarely useful. Because of the flash, the upper part of the lentern is invisible as well, as the background, so the picture lacks some context. If you didn't want any background, maybe a tighter crop could help.

Seems a bit grainy to me. It also seems like it may have been slightly overexposed. A little less light would have avoided that "flash" lighting look on the signs and a white balance adjustment could have helped counteract that slightly green cast from the street light.

Nice idea. A simple improvements can made it a great picture.
1) Light, is dull and very harsh (it makes very defined light shadows definitions) and it hurts the message of pictures.
2) Scenary sugest a street case, then preserve it but adds to your composition capturing less wires, poles and commom elements. A simple crop tight can solve in many situations.
3) Movement. This scene has a lot of movement. I can saw that hand in low shutter speed.
