The bananas are too cropped, showing more of them would show the curves better. I like that the fruit isn't perfect (exterier marks and all). Added with the black and white, it gives the photo more depth.

Is that a ......curve ball? = ) I think that would have been a cooler title. Great macro shot, seems to be a little less light in the upper left corner. Is that just the coloration of the ball? It would have been nice if it was more even.

I actually think the coffee swirls could stand alone on this one, the are more interesting than the spoon

Thanks to all for their comments and votes. The sub was lit by a small flashlight and the shot was taken with the camera on a mini-tripod. Reuben, I tried your suggestion before I took this shot, it came out OK, but I didn't think people would have a clue as to what the picture was. As for the cropping, I tried this shot a lot of times and could never get the lighting and focus just right. This is the "cream of the crop" of my shots. I would have also liked a smaller aperture to get the left side in focus, but my camera's minimum is 4.0
