Depression..by sandeepsalwan45Comment by GoodEnd: There is no soft focus here. Soft focus has a misty character with the edges softened and bright areas turned like fog. It results of light difusion before the lens. This picture is only using a shallow DOF. |

no - its the flash that caused the puppy to be too bright & harsh, a shallow DoF wouldn't have any effect on the brightness of the subject, just how much of the subject is in focus.
