Comment by BHuseman:
I know how challenging these shots can be, especially in grey skies. Nicely captured, but it looks a little soft.

I am probably a small minority, but I have difficulty rating any B&W photos higher than a 5, when today’s photographic technology makes vivid and vibrant color so easy.

Comment by ssodell:
The blue of the sky doesn't contrast well with the color of the structure. Maybe 5000 yrs ago when they were either painted or newly quarried and shaped. Maybe they are just in need of more light. Yeah I think that is it. More light on the Columns and less saturation of the Nitrogen (atmosphere).

Wow. I'd like to know how this image was captured. Well done. Colour perhaps?

these are almost impossible to get- how did you do this or even get the chance to see this happen and time it perfectly? This is a jet breaking the sound barrier

I gave you an eight earlier.
I would not have guessed that he was in the special olympics, but because of his headwear, I did assume there was swimming involved. I've always enjoyed that.
=)

I like this because your model actually accomplished something rather than pretending to accomplish something to gain the same shot. It's genuine.

During voting, I noticed that you have the medal in color which ties into the title and makes sense. The swim cap and goggles would have looked odd in black and white, so it's good that you have them in color too. Just, everything that could have been done right was done right and I'm shocked that you didn't end up higher for this. It's a fantastic shot and shows great achievement. Well, I like it.
