Merry Christmasby jimmythefishComment: Very clever! An excellent graphic study in line. The deep shadow bits are a very nice touch. I like the contrast between the metal tools and the soft paper. I also like the idea of the spotlight on the cross. Although this may not be according to your intent I wish that the grey tones were a shade closer to white to lighten the image. The border is pretty thick, but a black border is a good choice. An original idea expressed reasonably well. This concept has a lot of possibilities. For example three bones with the third being broken by two hands. Cloth being torn. Etc. Keep up the superb work |

A Dirt Cheap Modelby indigo997Comment: There is a lawsuit against you for hospitalized DPC'ers from intense spasmodic laughing injuries. I am going to significantly upscale your average by insisting you accept a score of 10 for originality.A brilliant humourous concept. Technical performance is basically up to snuff. If a magic wand could be waved I would personally like the following for my 8ftX10ft mural version: The worm emerging a la vertical pose from mother dirt against simulated puffy cloud sky. Handy dandy mirror for that one. The white background is just too clinical for me. ( Nightmares of high school science lab and all that). And perhaps a squirt of water aerosol to freshen up her complexion. I do like the specular highlights on the victim though. Could I have just a hint more texture? Perhaps a slightly lower light angle to bring out those drop dead gorgeous laugh lines (OK wormy wrinkles). This is a premium idea that has delightful hidden charms and many more interesting possibilities worth pursuing. Thank you for such an enjoyable image...6 |

Reflectionsby JeanComment: This image has a beautiful pleasant warm metal feel. I like that as opposed to the frequent cold metal touch. The pebbles repeat the spoon curves appropriately. The juting corner is an interesting contrasting visual element. There seem to be at least three colours in that polygon bit. Personally I would prefer just one simple tone instead of those three. If you make a roof cone of translucent sheet above your subject this could eliminate all distracting room elements ( if you had wished to do so ) . I also would have eliminated the bluish marbles. Just brownish rocks for my personal tastes. I also like how you overlapped portions of the spoons. In heaven I would magically arrange it so that the dark spoon edge would overlap the adjacent handle but the clear shiny edge between adjacent bowls would not touch. These are just minor suggestions in an otherwise gorgeous image. Thank you for aiming high for originality. ...7 |

Fourby goodtempoComment: I really like the color combination with the pthallic symbols. They feel like squishy foam in a soapy puddle. A lovely contrast of pink against blue. The cord breaks up the rigid vertical elements perfectly. I also like how the black windows repeat the pink columns. The texture in the pinkies is also a pleasure visually. The horizontal purple and cream edge lines fit in well, too. This is my favorite abstract image for this week. A very good image. Congratulations...7 |

So that We May Be Freeby YomiComment: There are a lot of great elements happening in this image. First the story and mood are outstanding. The flag is very dramatic visually and emotionally. Especially the struggle to emerge from the snow. The snow atop the gravestones is a very fitting touch. The blurred grey tombstones in the background further amplify the sombre ones in the midground. Personally to me this is more a patriotic message than technically aiming towards the theme of four. But that is a minor point not worth quibbling over.I was a little mean and took 1 point off because of this. My apologies for being Scrooge. This is an exceptional image that has both a first rate concept and impecable execution. 8 |

Oops! Sorry! Miscoun........by Harz_JoergComment: There are a lot of obvious card shots in this round. But yours stands above the rest with an actual story. Very nice touch with the smokin' 6 gun and the four corner theme. 8 |

Four of a Kindby kandyjComment: Yes this is a cliche. But you have doane a great job of expressing a family. A warm gentle story. Nice skin texture for the most part. There is a slight plastic feel to the baby hands ( small nit pick...sorry). This is my fav shot for this week. Fab job....8 bullwinkle

Shaken, not stirred...by AleciaComment: A superb tabletop image. Very dramatic lighting ( you can\'t go wrong with red ), no disturbing highlights, perfect DOF and a lovely touch with the spiral reflection. Some folks might like a little motion/action in the shot. But I think the bold shapes simply stated will get you among the top 10 this week. Very professional image..8 bullwinkle |

My healing hands: massage therapyby kosmikkreeperComment: An excellent portrayal of your occupation. I love your implementation of motion in the image. It absolutely gets your intended message across. I would like to see more of these type of images as opposed to static tabletops. The black background is a perfect typical choice. In a perfect world I would wish for a little more skin texture or shadow play on the back. This is a wonderful photo..8 bullwinkle |

DeoxyribonucleicWHAT?! The Life of a Studentby KonadorComment: There are a LOT of elements that make a well felt mood. The browns in the wall, papers, clothes and face really tie the picture together well. I love how you melted the hair, book and shirt into the shadows to focus attention on the notes. The face skin texture is absolutely heaven perfection. The hint of hand motion breaks up the static elements ( this is very, very good!).I like the worn edge on the textbook and the triangle of elbow that repeats the other triangle elements. An excellent portrait....8..bullwinkle |
