The monochromatic theme of this image has lots of power. The rough and ready nature of both the sign and truck add lots of character to the foto. The limited DOF certainly focuses attention on the sign. Good job.

The crisp bright color scheme is very eyecatching. Extremely graphic look. The impact of the sign seems relatively secondary to the other visual elements. In otherwords the gratings, shadows and brick texture steal the show. An alluring shot just the same.

A cute pic! Good sense of humour and a nice creative touch. B&W works well for this shot. I like the close cropping, too. The knuckles are a tad bright compared to the other flesh tones for my taste. A good foto.

I love the crisp metallic look of this image. Hard steel urbania mood. The dramatic edges among shadows and highlights are very appealing. The cloudless sky really adds to the starkness. The viewpoint is well chosen and adds to the towering looming metropolitan aura. Personally I would like a touch of space between the sign and tower. Otherwise this image has an awe inspiring modern age impact. Hope you receive many more positive remarks. Good work

Top marks for DOF in this image. The toppled sign and weathered tree trunk compliment each other well. The hint of bush on the right is a nice touch to soften the harsh sign edges. What does this image look like in B&W? I find the Maple St. sign a tad dark but that is probably the best you could do considering the shadow-highlight extremes under those conditions. Your vantage point is also well chosen. I would like to see the right corner of the Maple St. sign. Otherwise a very good effort.

The urban crush is well exemplified by this image. I like the splash of russet foliage to soften the harsh city look. The panorama format suits the foto perfectly although I am not a big fan of the red border. This format seems to balance the plethora of vertical elements present. The pedestrian signs pop out well from the relatively high key background. Order among chaos. A well executed concept.

Another first class image in my books. The bullet holes, broody landscape, railcar slihouette all speak together of desolation. The pink clouds and light red sign compliment each other. As do the sign shape and "wheel" . There is not much in the way of texture in this foto. And to me, that permits the visual elements that are present to have more punch in terms of shape. And variety of shape (with a few color accents) is what seems to essentaily pull this whole picture together. A truly wonderful image easily achieving top ten status this week.

This is my absolute fav foto for this week. Ultra superb delicate pastel hues. Really really appreciated muted tones in contrast to the screaming dayglo colors common to this website. The mood is very well felt with the washed out red stop, the growth, the crooked window frames, the snow, etc. I like the nice touch how the window frame leans against the sign. The tight composition accentuates the impact of each visual element. The overcast lighting allows the gentle colors to have full voice. This is indeed a first rate masterpiece that deserves many more positive comments. Please continue with such wonderful inspiring work. A fantastic image. ...9

A pleasnt image to behold. I love the encircling sweep of the branches around the frame. An elegant touch. The detail in the conifers is also appreciated. Often these photos are just foreground silhouettes. The idea of lots of sky to express freedom/openess,etc definetely comes across here. Although it may not have been possible I personally would have liked a little more mountain top plus a few more bolder clouds to glide across the heavens. A good nature shot overall.

I like the feeling of wide open expanse by including lots of blue sky. A long time ago I was told that an odd number of visual elements seems to balance better than an even number. Thus three or one tree(s) might work better than two. The horses and riders do fit in with your theme. Although circumstances may have been out of your control I would personally rather have the folks riding into the picture towards the trees thus bringing the viewers attention back inside the frame. Just a suggestion. The foliage of the larger trees is very photogenic. Those alone say in a silhouette with a horse on a puffy cloudy day would be a magical moment. You have got the right elements here in the game. A few minor changes in composition, lighting (i.e. dramatic sidelighting or backlighting during sunset/sunrise ) would alter the image presentation ...should you wish to do so. Otherwise a reasonable photo with redeeming qualities. Good luck.
