flower image 11 18 04.jpgby hardwaybetsComment by cghubbell: Seems like if you could underexpose by 1 stop or so you'd capture more detail. Some of the bright spots are on the virge of loosing detail, and the shadows are your friend when trying to instill depth in an image. I like the contrast of the red surrounded by green, and the clean an non-distracting background the green makes. It would also be interesting to shift the perspective to emphasize the intricate tip of the flower and slightly allow the petals to drift out of the focus. You might try to get the "film plane" parallel to the leaves if you try that as it will help to keep the depth of field even. |

Save My Childby hardwaybetsComment by lisae: What an amazing sculpture! I think you took a photo of it from a great angle, making good use of "other people's art" to create an effective image. Great use of perspective and fantastic composition. If it was a cloudier day, perhaps the lighting would have been more in your favour, or perhaps you could have chosen dusk or dawn to take this photo. |

Save My Childby hardwaybetsComment by karmat: As a picture, I really like the simple contrast of the blue and green. As a stature, this is particularly disturbing (not in a bad way, but in a thought provoking way) and I would like to know more about it. |

Save My Childby hardwaybetsComment by PTLParsons: This is so impactive. Where in the world is this? It speaks volumnes. I would love to know the whole story of this. Beautiful job of photography. There's nothing that can be said to help improve the shot. It is fantastic as is. Congrautlations. |

Save My Childby hardwaybetsComment by KarenB: how disturbing! use of light and blue sky is in sharp contrast to what is being depicted here. I usually don't like images of statues or other works of art, however this is dramatic and is well done. |
