Lighting is insufficient and might be a culprit in the dull colors. Picture is a little busy and appears to be a little shallow in depth.

despite being a close-up of a plant (I've been giving them low scores) I will be giving yours an 8. Color, lighting, and composition demonstrate excellent knowledge and execution (I reserve 9 and 10 for the pictures that make me say "OMG, how did they do that" or "OMG THAT IS AWESOME!" Regardless, I didn't verbally exclaim OMG, but I did think it).

A very good picture and a pretty subject! However, I don't see anything in the picture to substantiate the title.

By the way, how were you able to take such a good pink picture without zooming in really close to a flower? I'm amazed :)
