Wish I had taken this when I was there... I found it interesting about the color shift in the stones between the pre & post Civil War construction... This is for me a wonderful perspective on an incredible monument to a "Father of a Nation.

Another picture I am pretty happy with. I knew I didnt want to take a picture of a literal branch, I suspected people would see a lot of those anyway and it just didnt get my creative juices flowing. I am really pleased that a few people got what I was going for. I wanted the building to appear imposing. I wanted the building to appear like a monolith. I do agree that a shot later in the day might have allowed more of the fresco on the top to stand out. Also I think I could have played with the shadows and brightness a bit more to improve it a bit.

I might have simply titled it Judicial Branch. Really like the darkness between the pillars and the perspective gives it an appropriate imposing feel. I like it!
