I love it! The way the eyes pop out from the subtle shades of the black fur is wonderfully creepy. I personally would have tried to get a slightly less cluttered background and also taken the dog's collar off, to increase the impact of that effect... although quite possibly if you had tried moving the animals they wouldn't have settled down again and all that... oh well. ;) Very neat idea! :)

Great capture! I love the way the whiskers seem to spider out from the picture... it creates a neat effect.

Well, here's my two cents. ;)

I actually think the cropping is okay here... the composition works nicely, and I am not really bothered by the whiskers. But perhaps to get the horizontal crop, you could use the cloning tool to get rid of the shower curtain? I played around with it a bit in photoshop and got this:

I also intensified the colors (maybe too much?) added some contrast, and did a bit of burning and dodging. This is just what I personally might have done. I think it's a great shot with lots of potential - that subtle expression makes this a really wonderful capture. :) Hope this was helpful!

nice shot, only thing I would do in processing is burn the background just a tad to remove some or all of the detail from the ceiling otherwise, Bravo great work.

The lighting here is a little flat ... meaning, "too even". You need highlights AND shadows in order to define a 3D object in the 2D space of a photograph. And with guys... you can play with very contrasty light (deep shadows) to delineate their shape and form.
