Moving Rock by rd_325Comment: Congrats Rich. Well captured!
It was a great surprise to see another moving rock in the challenge :)
I was there on the 18th, but a bit late, I might have reached after 5pm and the sun was already down... |

Country Blueby TruegshtComment: **Critique club**
Greetings !!
Great use of colors in the shot.
A few things I would have liked more is a different composition, the tree is placed somewhat at a weird position, the left side of the frame looks weak at this time and also a bit of more room to breathe on the top might help too.
Color saturation/hue seems to add noise in the sky most visily around horizon. Use of a noise removal software like neatimage will help improve the shot.
Like any other landscape shot, straight horizon is desired which is not the case here and can be improved in editing.
If you have any questions/comments please feel free to pm me.

He loves Country Livingby johncoComment: **Critique Club**
Greetings !!
Welcome to dpc. I hope you have fun here.
My first thoughts, I get distracted from the subject ( horse ) to the background home as its much brighter. Yes it does have great color and it would itself work as a great subject, but since this photo should be more impetus on the horse, its distracting. The colors are nice in the image.
As you mentioned, you will have problem with this scenario as the two different subjects, ice and black horse are too apart in the luminance and will be out of the dynamic range of your camera. One standard way to do is to take two separate exposures and blend them. More information can be found by search 'Digital blend' on google or forums. But as you know mergin two photos is not legal here at dpc, but if you shoot raw, you can take two exposures and merg them together and that's legal in advanced editing...
Looking forward to more participation from you.
if you have any questions, feel free to pm me
thanks,
Gaurawa

Primitive Light Meteringby tryggunnzComment: damn this sensor dust.. I was so annoyed myself and I had to choose the the only shot which wasn't showing the dust...it got under a dark area and I could use the shot without cloning :)
I like the darker tones and contrast 7 |
