I really like the composition of the elements in the picture! Instead of those ruby red shoes skipping down the yellow brick road it is the road with a symbol that promises shelter (from whatever the weather throws at one). The other thought that crossed my mind is that is Wizard of Oz meets Mary Poppins. Dorothy is in search of signs of whimsical adventure or a way to get home that only Mary's Magical Umbrella can promise by whisking one away to their chosen destination. Now I do have one critique - and that is on the lighting. I wish that the shadows cast were not so deep in tone and as evident. Since this is outdoor the main thing that is key is time of day that the sun is overhead where the shadows would cast a minimum 'footprint' by barely being there OR that you wait for the sun to be partially hidden behind a cloud for a softer shadow or very little one at all. But that of course is up to Mother Nature and she operates on her own schedule much to the joy or annoyance of us photographers;-)

:))) You got it! Thanks.

So far this is my best score: I'm Thrilled! Thank you for everyone who voted for my photo.

CNovack: Yes!!! I'm glad that I could convey a message. It seems you understood the pic as my first thought was to combine Dorothy and Mary Poppins: I even wanted to put an exit/phone-sign on the umbrella!!! but time was pressing.

Yippeee
