I agree with everyone's suggestion of making the photo off centered to the right. I'd stick with the horizontal layout as the portrait will diminish the black backgrounds effect. You've mastered the black background very well.

In your "Photographer's Comments" section let us know what you used for the cracked look. Inquiring minds will want to know.

The whites of your eyes look not-quite-completely white to me (I know you were shooting this for the B&W in colour challenge) but I think I'd completely desat the whole thing so your eyes aren't still slightly coloured.

I like it. I am not sure if I agree with everyone about off-center being better - i kinda like it that way - but I think maybe a little closer would look better and give more details on your face.

Very cool, what did you rub on yourself? Looks like it could be an ad for a horror movie. Personally I like the crop because the overwhelming amount of black ads to the freakiness. You should post another one with your eyes completely blacked out ;)

Nice image, but in my view calls for portrait orientation, or, as some have suggested, a different composition. Also, as for the "makeup", how about leaving the goop out of your hair? Might look neat...

Very cool. I like it a lot. I also think a different crop would work better for me. I would go portrait orientation, pretty close, fairly off center. I played with it a little, and I kinda like a 4 degree CCW rotate on it as well. Great pic!
