i'm not sure what that big piece of paper is, but i'll take a wild guess at registration. unfortunately it looses some of that independence feel when you think of licenses, registrations, and insurance being required. perhaps you could have found a cooler looking key chain, and perhaps replaced the distracting would grain background with a white or solid color. not that your idea wasn't sound, when i saw this shot i thought of another one where the parent is passing the car key to the teenager as he heads out the door on a date...not sure how hard that would have been to set up, if even a possibility, but perhaps a more exotic alternative.

Not a bad shot at all but hardly good either, if it would have had more pleasing colour and better image quality, specifically sharpness/contrast I would probably have given this a 6-7. However, the shot has a serious purple cast to it and the sky is very odd to say the least, too overexposed and hazy. You sure your monitor colour is calibrated?

The family in the foreground seem to be out of focus. Also, the horizon doesn't look level; see this page for information on how to correct this.

Too "snapshot" of a photo. The sky is way blown out, shadows too dark. The detail is not good, and the colors get blotchy in the water near the horizon.

a bit overexposed ... the sky is too burnt out ... I think the excessive amount of space on the left side is an attempt to apply the rule of thirds in a situation where it really doesn't help the shot.
