1959 - Triumph of Life Over Deathby dockieComment by The_Itinerant: What event does this commemorate? I'm not lowering your score; I'm just curious.
With high-key photos like this one, you have to be careful to not let your subject's boundaries get lost in the background. Here, all of the statues edges are sharp and well defined except for the outside edge of the arm on the left side. Have a look at the White on Light challenge a little while back.
I thought using a flash and a lower exposure setting would help this photo, but then the shadows which define the statue's shape would disappear and the sky would be gray and blend even more with the statue. I don't know how I would do this picture. If the statue is white, maybe take a color picture with a blue sky to have the statue really stand out (of course, assuming this statue is outdoors). |
