Excellent shot, i love these birds. Incidently they do not get there beautiful white heads until they are around five years old. Excellent.

Yes it is 100 % real. It was taken at a local bird of prey centre. I was able to get within 4 ft of the magnificent bird then just zoomed in to fill the frame with the head. I was fortunate to be able to get the angle for the dark backdrop.

Lovely bird and within 10 minutes of this photo the bird was flying free. Great to see.

In my opinion this is good however I would have probably lightened it up a bit to show more highlights giving the busy structure more impact and definition. It is just a little flat, still good idea.

Litle far streching considering the challenge subject. Compostion fine, exposure could be better.
