Floral Day 23by
JeniYComment: I wrote a poem yesterday and was looking for a photo to represent it, if you don't like it I'll remove it. :)
------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm just a fading wildflower in the hot baking sun
Scrambling to live but with nowhere to run
Sending my shoots out for one dew drop more
Hoping to conquer, aching to score
Craving the sunshine, wanting the rain
Always parked in the shade, bending in pain
Hungry for newness, lacking in zest
Reaching and yearning to honor this quest
Seeking, freaking & spreading my seed
Lurching, searching feeding the need
Trampled by traffic, beat down by feet
Picked on and poked by people I meet
Gathered and hacked at, placed in a vase
To sit on a shelf positioned with grace
Cut off at the root, bound by the thorns
Cursing the day I claimed to be born
Finally withered, withdrawn of no use
No dignity, no privacy from public abuse
Tossed in a waste can laying flat on my face
Now coffee grounds poured, in death more disgrace
But death has no sting, and life has no bite
I'd hoped that it would, I thought that it might
