A great shot, nice and sharp with lovely colours. It took me quite a while to work out what was obsolete in the photo though (or rather 'how' it was obsolete) - but I got there in the end.

A great shot, definitely worthy of a top 10 spot. The depth of field in this shot has been managed extremely well, with only the bottle in focus. The only critical comment I can really make is on the seemingly 'loud' border - but that's probably more a case of my personal taste than anything.

Great composition and beautiful colours in this shot. It appears that the flag is the subject being focussed on though, rather than the sewing machine which may lead the viewer to the wrong interpretation (I'm presuming it's the sewing machine that is obsolete, and not the flag!)

Ah, those were the days... A nice 'promotional' shot for the old ZX. The circuit diagram in the background is a nice touch. I would have liked a slightly closer shot so the text on the keys were a bit clearer - but that's only a minor detail. Well done.

A great entry with that 'yester-year' feel to it. For some reason my eyes are constantly drawn to the man as the subject though. I'm not sure why that is - possibly because of the tonal range on that side of the photo. The photo has been flawlessy executed though - with both near and far objects nice and sharp.

A lovely soft-focus entry with a warm feel to it. There are two things I feel would make this shot better though. The colour of the surface the recorder is standing on doesn't complement the colour of the recorder - it would have been nice if it was a similar brown colour. The other point is that the dark/black areas don't seem dark enough to me. Making these areas darker would make the subject stand out just that little bit more.

But these are only minor issues in what is otherwise an outstanding entry. Well done!

Nice and sharp, but perhaps a bit too bright for my liking - perhaps it's because the background is brighter than the subject? I don't know. I can't quite put my finger on it. I also find the shadow-play a bit distracting, making it hard to see the lovely patterns in the iron.

I do like the way you have composed the shot, concentrating on only part of the sewing machine. It makes the viewer think a bit to work out what it is.

Congrats on your first >5.0 score. You even managed to evoke one more 9 and 10 votes than I did in this challenge - I only got one 10 and three 9's :)

The gloves are off for the next challenge though!

Oh and another thing - this is now the second best photo ever submitted to a challenge using this camera! (see //www.dpchallenge.com/camera.php?CAMERA_ID=1055)

A great photo. Personally (just my opinion, take with a grain of salt), I would have cropped out all of the balcony above, even though it would mean lopping off part of the larger pipes. This would have given a more uniform background to the rest of the pipes.

The focus is great but what I'm really amazed by are the absolutely gorgeous colours in the pipes - especially the blues at the bottom. That definitely gives it the 'wow' factor in my book.

Overall, a very nice and original entry - well done!

The background is distracting, but the watch is perfectly in focus. Unlike many other entries in this challenge, the I feel that 'reflection' aspect adds to the overall image. Both the watch and the reflection are well lit. The bronze/copper colours have really been captured well.
