Into the light of almost nightby TitiaComment by Cantique: Love the lighting on the sheep and dogs. I'd be inclined to crop a bit more from the front to call more attention to the sheep and remove some of the grasses that distract from the sheep. Still a lovely scene and definitely beautiful. |

Forward or backwardby TitiaComment by Arcanist: Am I caught by the anticiapation of a decision? Not really. I know that a cat is hanging in a tree and there is the possibility of catastrophe, but I cannot feel a decision upon me. The angle of view and placement of the main subject is hurt more by the placement of the branches. I cannot see the look on the kitten's face, the fear or thought that might be washing over it determining its fate to remain perched or fall. I find that the blurred fore branches contrasted with the one very well defined branch in the back right create a chaos, but does not invoke a decision for me. There is nice color in the leaves behind the cat, but even they are more well defined that the main subject's fur. I must offer a 2 on this image. It comes off to me as chaotic with neither a well defined subject or solid connection to the challenge. |

Into the light of almost nightby TitiaComment by Olyuzi: Despite the uninteresting and blown out sky, I like this image very much. The tones in the bottom half are superb and painterly. Had you shifted up the horizon to include less of the sky it may have gotten an even higher mark from me. 8 |

Into the light of almost nightby TitiaComment by e301: Whilst the capture of light here is near-exemplary, I wonder whether it was necessary to submit a full frame shot - II'm not sure exactly what is added by not cropping the left and bottom edges - a stronger composition, strnger movement through frame of the main subject, stronger placement of horizon, and no loss of the beauty of that great light. Still a strong shot, mind; I just think it could have been very effectively improved - oh, and would love to see it like that, also. |
