what neat little carvings...i love 'em. just wish both had been in good focus(one in front seems a little blurred. lighting is good, gives them charcter...good luck :)

Despite some technical flaws, this is a good photo. Creative idea, nicely set up, and well composed. The main problem with it is the lighting. A light box is an effective method for creating a shadowless white background. But the front lighting isn't strong enough here to compete with the light box, making the subject too dark and giving it a strange color cast. It also gives a flat appearance to an obviously 3-dimensional object.

I like it just the way it is. Okay, maybe brighten the water or otherwise increase the difference in appearance between the two. But I like it anyway.
