The composition/crop is spirited, the textures are wonderful and the effect is striking. I have not seen such a bold use of USM pixel range before ... whenever I've tried it experimentally, the results have been quite awful. Which just reinforces for me what a very fine image this is. I applaud both your vision in realising what was there and your confidence in demonstrating it.

I'm sure you had a long exposure to get this, but it still needs some subject in the photograph. Something to compare the "polar winds" to. Something stable so your photo is not just a big blur.

As an abstract photo this is one of the nicer ones but don't really see how it fits the challenge (not to say that it doesn't). For a long exposure it would be nice to see what the actually image is and try and guess how the photographer tried to do it. Good luck in this challenge. <5>
