Hi there.
Patterns was a hard challenge to come up with ideas for. I agree completely with you.

I don't think the voters saw this as a pattern. I'm keeping and open mind and saying it could be interpretted as a Pattern. Afterall, what you have captured is a pattern created by the lights.

However, if you want higher scores, you have to think about what the voters want to see.

It's interesting you went with a panorama type composition here. Perhaps you cropped it a little too tight though.

As far as focus, it could be a little sharper, but it's not horribly out of focus. It may just appear soft, because you are actually taking pictues of light bulbs.

It may be a little overexposed also. I'd like to see the blacks as black and some of the whites not gone completely white. This would help with the noise in the photo also.

Mostly, I'm hoping you are having fun here on DPC. Some of the challenges are hard, some are not so hard. Just enjoy shooting!
