This is a very nice photo which I found by accident doing a search for something else. I felt the need to register as a basic user simply to correct a mistake seen in many of the comments. This insect is a "she," not a "he" as stated in a number of comments. There are thousands of species of wasps (which include yellowjackets [one word folks], hornets, etc.) in which no males have ever been discovered.
