Twirlby bvyComment: This is BRILLIANT.... I'm so looking forward to this side challenge... more to see other peoples stuff than to contribute (though I hope to post a few of my own).
But I absolutely LOVE this photo... FAV!!! |

Speleothems - Jenolan Caves, Australia by rozComment: Congratulations on YET ANOTHER ribbon. Amazing photo, especially considering the fact you couldn't use a tripod... bonus points for that in my book. Well done. |

3 Inches of Bloodby adamslightComment: Robbed... this was one of my favourite images in this challenge... dare to be different I say... though, speaking from experience, the wowsers here at DPC tend to not appreciate something that's different in a disturbing way.
Based on my voting on this challenge, you would have got an HM at the very least. |

The Homeless (www.thehomelessband.ca)by hotpastaComment: Hey Hotpasta... this is the same homeless guy that's in your Tunnel & Caves photo :) ... though, if I'm wrong about that one being a hotpasta shot, then I'll be wrong about this one too... guess I'll have to wait and see when voting finished.
But to this photo. A great photo that doesn't follow the DPC friendly template. Details are excellent, but perhaps bordering on too much detail (especially the grime on the wall) and it becomes destracting. And while the items in the bottom left help paint the picture/tell the story of homelessness, they're also more a distraction that pull the viewer from the main subject. Don't get me wrong, *I* like this photo, but I'll be surprised if it reaches the dizzy heights of most hostpasta challenge entries (score wise at least). |

Shoppingby Art RoflmaoComment: Oh... the angel with the flower now has a lollipop, and he's no angel anymore. Love the expression on his face. Alternate title "Honey, look what I picked up at the liquor shop". :) |

Welcome to Cowtownby Yo_SpiffComment: And are these paid actors there for the benefit of the tourists, or do locals actually go about looking like this?
Nice photo... great colour and composition. |

Here, Dad. Have a weed.by Art RoflmaoComment: Beautiful. Gotta love the innocence and generosity of young children. We're forever getting "flowers" from the younger kids, be they weeds or plucked from someones well manicured garden... perhaps it's our insistence they they not pick from peoples gardens that sees them stop picking flowers for us when they get a little older :(
Enjoy such simple pleasures while they last. |
