Comment by Kavey:
I like the colours and light reflections in the glass. I think this shot could benefit from a little application of the rule of thirds - either a horizontal third given to the black background and 2 thirds to the glass or the other way around. I'd suggest the former which gives more prominence to the glass.

Two things I might have changed in this image. Firstly I would have deepened the DOF a little more to get all the marbles in focus but still blurring out the background. And secondly, I would have tried a different angle or set up so as not to get the reflections of the buildings in the glass. The idea is very good.

Comment by pinback:
The light band in the background is a distraction and the colours in the marbles could do with a bit more saturation. But good choice of subject and use of DOF.

nice dof and interesting subjects (are we going to see them again in primary colors?) my two thoughts are if you had boosted the saturation the colors would have had some more zing, and a higher angle might have been interesting.

Nice idea, unfortunately it has been spoilt by your very shallow DOF. I think this foto would have been a lot better if they had all been in focus. Am also not sure what is on the left side of the foto, but looks as though a finger/thumb might have crept, giving the pale pink haze. Would also have suggest a one colour background, rather than the two colour one you have opted for.

Nice photo. Good composition and color. Shadow falling on the sign darkens it a bit, but not too much to be distracting. Nice entry. 7 md

Verh good shot! Extremely clean background! Focus is very good, but some of the edges seem a little pixelated (sorry, no suggestions) Good color. I'm a bit conflicted on the shadows on the front of the sign....seems to be more interesting, but somewhat obscuring, too (I'm not using that as score criteria, I'm just too wishy washy about it.) 7 Swash

those are some interesting shadows. it looks surreal it might be oversharpened a bit and it looks pixelated maybe because of a higher iso, but still it's a good picture
