water worldby tateComment: On the podium. Third place only, but the other two were even more inexplicable than yours, so you can't complain. Of the three, yours is the most beautifully photographed craft-wise. But I don't care about that so it doesn't count. It's still the bronze medal for you, then. But should the other two get disqualified, which of course would be splendid, you are perfectly placed to pounce.
Thank you. |

hey thereby PennyStreetComment: The most interesting photo in the challenge. No, wait. It's one of two that are equally-most-interesting. You're tied at 10. First one to slip me 20 bucks in a plain brown envelope gets an 11, and thoroughly well deserved, too.
Thank you. |

IN THE HAZE OF THE MORNINGby instepsComment: Henry,
A rich pleasure, and a thrilling example of photography as legitimate art.
I’m so sick of seeing photographs described as “stunning” (with apologies to tanguera in this case, I’m not calling her out ... I have great affection and respect for her), because stunning is the act of rendering insensible. This ensemble of spare photographs, presented so simply, so coherently, has the opposite effect; of heightening the viewer’s senses. It’s anti-stunning.
You demonstrate that one of the most powerful expressions of photography is to reduce the subject to its essentials. A distillation. And in the case of this work, that distillation is a single malt.
Thank you. |

Thank you as well for the great fun and interest of the November square exhibition. Alas, I lost traction a bit over half way through (various excuses, mostly feeble), but I greatly enjoyed being part of this liberated and unselfconscious company for a while. |

the photographer.DSCF0789by mariucaComment: I should never read the other comments before commenting myself. All I see now is that flute player. No, wait, I see more. A trombone dangles into the dark side of the scene. It's quite musical, really. Thank you. And thanks for making the November square exhibition fun and interesting. |

"evanesco"by Ecce_SignumComment: Yes a judge. So the new judge asks the retiring judge, "How much do you give a ponce?" And the retiring judge says .....
Do you know that old but wonderful judicial joke? If not, look for it online to see the fabulous punch line.
Thanks for being a fun collaborator in this side exhibition. |
