If you think of degree of difficulty, this is a pretty hard photo to get right. There are focus issues & lighting issues that come from the venue. It looks like you may not have used a tripod which would have helped. And in the end, I just don't get candid from this.

I think you were unlucky in this challenge. The shallow DOF really hurt the voting by the looks of it. Perhaps a focused head would have been the way to go?

Perhaps lighting could have been used to avoid accentuating the writing on the side?

It was a great find.... Perhaps you can use it again for the 'Movie Title' challenge.... Title 'Jaws' :-)

Reminds me of Rocky Horror. Does not say candid to me, although I can see how someone might consider this candid and I'll give half credit.

What this image really says is Blurry, OverExposed Lamps, Camera Shake, Snapshot just to get an entry.

This type of shot would need a tripod, not a stabilizing wall or chair. Without a specific target for evaluation in the crowd, I can only say this image rates a two.

The Space age stapler. Wow! This thing really jumps out at the viewer. very good lighting. Bumping up. This image would have been even stronger with a deeper dof. However, it is raging strong, even as is. Bumping up.
