Comment by moodville:
It's good that you've tried to 'hide' the background with a backdrop but the creases and depth of field make it become part of the image more than just a background. The image is also fairly noisy, which could be because of poor light or too much exposure correction. The focus also looks a little off, again this could be because of poor/dim lighting. The composition is good.

So much chromatic noise detracts from your precious pup? Rotating slightly counterclockwise to level the eyes and cropping in vertically would help this shot.

A different composition and plainer background would have improved this shot... beautiful watch though =)

Composition: 4, objects in upper part are distracting, would be better if done without them.
Technical: 4, The mechanical part seems to look like you oversharpened in post processing.
Appeal: 3, A difficult subject to make interesting enough to keep the interest of the viewer.

Comment by Winterberg:
The background is a bit distracting. And unfortunately the clock is not entirely in the photograph. 8

Comment by Bud:
Wowo this is very nice. It would have been nice to give a bit more attention to the background with a drop cloth or something to screen out the line at the top. But over all, very nice.

i would sudjest making your images the full 640 pixels. People really vote images down for not being large. Other than that.. nice color and good isolated on the dandilion. Perhaps you could benefit from reading the tutorial on rule of thrids... in the learn section of DPC.
