Comment by MattO:
Greetings from the Critique Club. I think you have done well with this entry. I love the focus and the whit background. I generally dont like centering, but it really seems to work well here. The border also adds to the photo. I think the score represents real well your efforts here.

Things that might have improved on. I think having the whole reflection in the foreground would have increased the score on this shot quite a bit. I also think that a little more light on the front of the boot would have accented it a little more. I also wonder what a leg in the boot might have done for it. Overall well done in a pretty high scoring challenge. Respectable finish.

Comment by David.C:
A very nice flower image -- taken from an unusual perspective, giving it more interest than the normal flower shot. The near perfect exposure is very nicely done and with a wonderfully executed depth of field.

The half-chewed petals are a distraction though -- one solution would have been to frame the image much tighter with the chewed portion just out of the frame.

The image sticks to the challenge theme well, but could have been stronger by showing more of the stem to provide a strong leading line moving the eye upward.

While I generally like softer flower shots, this isn't a general flower shot and I feel it would have benefitted from a bit more sharpeninging than it ihas. The is particularly true for the stem.

Nicely done.

I like this one! nice, crisp image of the sail, perfect for the challenge. The only thing I could come up with as a constructive criticism is:
- tighter crop - removing the wave at the bottom would draw more attention (all the attention) to the surfer.
- playing with levels and hue to make the gray sky color livelier.
As is - 9.

A tighter picture (crop) of the windsurfer would have done for me. The lines and color on the sail are very sharp.

Good capture. The artistic presentation and relevance to challenge theme is quite good. Love the skip on the water surface. Gives a sense of speed. Now, technically this is quite adequate. Only suggestion would be to go a little easier on the noise reduction. There is a subtle but distinct loss of fine detail in the spray and particularly in the distant hills.

I really like the photo, I see power in it, but not sure where the authority lies in it.

I really like this picture. You have done an excellent job illustrating how authority is solid, can be found in something so small yet, impacts everything around it.
