Lovely study in concentration. The lighting being fairly flat probably looses you some of the impact available using such a cute concept. You might also like to find a link on compostition where i talks about "thirds" and why not centering a subject in frame is always the best - 5

You know there are so many technically wonderful photos in this challenge. However, if you look at my not so perfect entry you will see something I see here, originality. There are just so many ways to splash mike with cookies and strawberry's but that doesn't move me as this photo.

This photo moves me deeply as it depicts life from life. A child depending on the mother at a visceral level which is unmatched on any other plane. This is worth more then gold on both parts, the love the mother is giving her child and the comfort the child displays in it's eyes.

Technically the shine in the child's eyes is wonderful. The fact it is in black and white adds to the simplicity of this life altering experience for the child. And that cute Little nose.

Well I usually only give one or two 10's out, this time it is going to be only one 10, this one. Be well and thanks for sharing this with us.

Beautiful baby!!! Those eyes are beautiful. I might up the contrast and remove about 3 inches from the left side - it's not necessary to convey the message.

This was a good idea, but ... :) Your horizontal line is crooked and the lighting is flat. Probably would have done better with several light sources and a lighter background. Good luck!

Good idea, poorly executed. The main problem is the lighting. I think the flash attached to the camera is the worst thing that has ever happened to photography. Try disabling your flash, and looking for other lighting options. Keep in mind that backgrounds and other surfaces will reflect onto your subject. For instance, if you set this up in slanting sun, with the goblet standing on a piece of matte gold wrapping paper, the paper would reflect up into the champagne, making it glow. You have good ideas, and otherwise your technique is good. Get some imagination into your lighting, and you'll have some really great photos!
