Ignoring the challange theme, how does this photo stand? Your lady in blue is so in-your-face that she must carry a message. This isn't just a "pretty picture", it's more of a journalistic entry so I'm looking for a moral. Are you suggesting that people are overweight? That Spandex is out and blue jean shorts are in? That the worl is a drab place and a burst of color is needed? If I look at the composition I find the bright blue butt in the rule-of-thirds sweet spot. Ok, rules are for amateurs, you could say. If I am an amateur viewer, my eye still goes to the woman's backside. Why do you want me to look there? I'm I supposed to be amused? Attracted? In the end, I'm left wondering "Why did you want me to look at this photo?" That doesn't make it a bad photo, it means that it failed to communicate anything to me, the average dull voter.

PS - I hate the border, I'm a member of the border police.

That is a powerful image - The clash of the titans - Earth vs Sky- Each is equally dramatic - clouds are all soft and horizontal but not soft, kinda scary looking. Earth is all pointy in rows to protect itself from the clouds maybe? Are those little man made teeny tiny insignificant things on the horizon? Puts us in our place, doesnt it?

Oh look! it's a fairy land. The troll is probably under the bridge and a lady on a white horse is comeing down the path, just around that corner to see why the giant left that pile of trees there. Magical.

The real world isnt a Hallmark Card world is it? Here are two people. Are they on a date? Are they married? They seem totaly absorbed in something besides each other. Her uncomfortable looking neck seems to say she is deliberately distanceing. They are in a restaraunt maybe? but they have no food, only bottled water, The empty table? Where are their friends? Did they just leave? All the clues to the setting say happy gathering, food, good company. The people seem content to say something completely different.
PS- I really like the way the light walls on the woman.

A rose. you say? Funny how without the red it looks so different. I looks more alive, like an undersea creature with a suction mouth that eats dead sea stuff. Preconception is everything. A rose is supposed to be beautiful. Perhaps you have exposed it as an imposter.

There is something Zen like about the balance in this photo - It is soothing, the weight of the earth and the weightlessness of space. The off center moon, the centered tree. The warm tones of the earth, the cool tones of the sky. light above, dark below.

The way this is framed it looks like an old time movie! I can hear the tinny piano music playing. Scroll up and down to watch the sequence. one way he gets happier, the other way sadder. The three images give a great sense of how animated the kid is and also how fast they grow and change.

PS - please tell us that isnt a snake.

First reaction, blah. Further look says ooh, nice spot too bad the photo is so blah. THird reaction, hey, I bet this could be seved with photoshop. how about turning it all sepia like this one? or make it all golden like this?

Work oh your post processing skills, photography today depends heavily on on the computer just like photography in the past required skill in the darkroom. Less messy these days.
