Armpit? Is that something shiny (glitter or something) or do you have a burnt pixel?

I just looked at your self-portrait portfolio. I really like it. Fantastic work that has inspired me. I've been working on a series that to this point have all been self-portraits. Looking at these have give me inspiration to continue the series in other ways.

I don't know. Personally I like the older shot better. It's more mysterious without anyone else visible in the room. An old man works alone in a dark and damp room. The steam burns his skin if he gets too close but that sensation has long since departed. For years he slaved to create the vile sticky sweet gravy and he has grown to hate it. Curse this dark wet room. The steam soaks his face in a wet sticky film. He doesn't bother to wipe the tears from his face. What's the point, it will be soaked again soon enough.

Or he loves his job. :)

Very nice shot. I know how you feel about being disappointed with a small part of your picture. That happens to me a lot. However I think this is still a great shot.

What kind of lighting do you use for a shot like this?

I agree with salmiakki. I really like the shot over her from overhead. I'm not sure if I like the overlay or not. Either way it's a beautiful shot I just think I would like it better without the overlay.

I wouldn't have thought to take pictures of a display like this. I'm always trying to think of something interesting to shoot. Usually I dismiss things and move on. Maybe I shouldn't since it works out here nicely. Great job.

Do people look at your strangely when you're taking pictures of seemingly random stuff? Nevermind that, people look at me strangely when I'm taking pictures of people in the park. Nosy I guess. I always wonder what store personnel might say to me if I were carrying a camera in a store.

Modern Art for sure!

I agree. I could see this as a sculpture in a modern art gallery. I love it. The thing I like best is the unusual pose. I've been working on a series of self-portraits all of which are unusual poses. Fantastic job.

I'm a big fan of city shots. I'm trying to learn how to capture some great looking nighttime city shots. I feel like I'm struggling, especially when looking at a great shot like this one.

If you're willing to share, I'd like to know your settings for this kind of shot. ISO, shutter speed, etc...
