My original entry was similar, of a wall with the negative space in the middle of the frame. I swapped it out last minute, but will be interested to see how this one does.

I appreciate your opinion but my understanding of a portrait is very similar to this definition: "Portrait photography is best defined as a genre of photography that involves capturing the identity, personality, facial expression, soul, emotions, essence, and the overall inherent character of a subject within a photograph." I think there is a lot of misconception when it comes to portraits as they don't need to be one subject or a headshot. Just my own opinion.
