Nice and creepy. I like it! If you ask me, and i may be entirely wrong, i see a bit of foolery here :) A cutout cardboard figure and one of those industrial glass vases (i used one once for a submission) set on a nice reflective surface such as a highly polished table, glass, or a mirror. Just guessing. Would have liked it more if the top green shape would have been blackish as well to keep my eye on the center. 8

Am wondering whether this is a shot of two pictures. The top one definitely is but the bottom reads like a picture of a picture as well and therefore i like it a little less. Titles never enter my scoring but i don't particularly care for titles that read like a book in order to understand the submission. 7

This shot is cool and has a lot of power. It's a nasty image and i like that. The nice patterns of the puddles on the squared terrace really help this shot a lot. Think though that i would have cropped it at the top edge of the puddles to give it more of a reading that 'so is the world'. You'll probably get comments to move the guy slightly more to the left to agree with the rule of thirds but where you have just blends in beautifully with the pattern of the puddles which was probably what you were going for. Good choice of B&W. Technically, this is not the best shot among the submissions but this image has a lot of eeriness to it and to me, much more than all those sunglasses and blue and red pills, says Matrix to me (mind you though that i didn't see the movie :) 9

Nice action shot, like the overall abstract collage feel that it creates. Too bad about all that black on lower left corner. 8

Find your title slightly klutzy but your image is very creative What's the background, a CD? Very nice color green, nice 'motion' effect. And that big black border works very well! 8

The creativity here consists of typing that phrase in a layer in Photoshop. Then you did a screencapture shot of it. Pretty lame, if you ask me. 3

Believe kiwiness did something like this not too long ago. The image isn't interesting, the fossil subject is mainly out of focus and the idea is that of a copycat. 2

Et ceci n'est pas Marcel Duchamps. I like the idea here to use the surrealists to convey the Matrix concept - a lot more original than all those sunglasses and blue and red pills. However, i find the execution of your creative idea lacking. You didn't bother to rearrange your computer set up for this pose and it sets there, a bit clumsily for the picture, probably exactly as you always use it. The cardboard with the Ce n'est pas un ordinateur also sits there slightly awkwardly. I don't mean to come down so hard on you but the idea was excellent and you took the time to do the cardboard and approximate the font but then, unfortunately, you didn't take the time to do the real shot. 6

David, don't let that crappy score bother you. That was the result of this submission being totally out of that week's challenge and people here are very picky about that. Even more so, since you submitted this B&W to a color challenge! :) I do like the emotional power of this shot and therefore would like to encourage you to continue shooting by any means. If you come up with something you care about but it doesn't fit the challenge, you could always submit it in a forum for critique and feedback. Some technical things: how about some rotation to level the steps, bit unfortunate that you just cut off his shoe, the more so since the person is the main subject of your picture. I like how you left the doorknob inside the picture there at the edge. It underscores the sense of being closed off, shut off from the rest of the world. I do like the emotion that the person conveys here; doesn't look staged or fake at all. Good job!

Man, this is beautiful.
It's because of pictures like this, that i hate myself at times. During voting had only given it a 7. I spent a lot of time on voting and commenting, and each week there are a couple that i just miss and don't give them the time of day they deserve (that's my biggest qualm of having to vote on 300+ pictures a week on a slow modem).
