Hey, that's my wife! -just kidding. I like this, it really captures the motion (action) well. Colors and composition are nice. Must've been a tough one to capture.

Great motion and atmosphere in this shot. Would love to know how the blurred portions at the sides were done. Colours are a little posterised but that's a big part of the atmosphere. A real winner of a shot. 10

Critique Club- Your eyes are the most striking element in this photo. They are well captured and seem to stare right at me. Your use of shadows really keep the attention on your eyes. From my understanding of portrait photography, having the eyes on the top thirds line is recommended, so I think cropping just enough off the top so the eyes are in the thirds position might have made this a stronger entry. I think I would also crop enough off the left hand side to center your face a little more.

Overall, I thought this was an excellent portrait.

Striking eyes, beautiful colors and beautiful light around your hair. I like the shadows on the face as well. WIth the top part so dark the photo almost looks cropped, maybe a touch of light up there would be nice, but this is a very nice self portrait.

wow, great lighting.. the band across the eyes is really nice. If the lighting was smoother and more even around the neck, 10 for sure.. 9 from me.

the straight shadow across the forehead is a bit too much , I very much like the soft shadow across the face and the overall mood and colors

Ah yes,Dark, light, dark, light. Like a soothing wave passing over the attractive feautures with the eyes carrying the heavy expressive projection. The mouth and lips are very well expressed with higlights that play on the tip of the nose and then makes the lips glisten. The values are very well represented in their respective zones and the entire image including twirling hair, frock, hat and background all help create a keen and colorful character study. Bumping up.
