Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that contributes well to the challenge

Another very appealing animal eyes study Eugene. If I hadn’t already seen ‘stray’ I would probably be more impressed with this but of the two I prefer the other. As you say, the DOF is probably a tad too shallow but I am not too bothered about the nose it’s the eyes themselves that I’m referring to. The lower half of the eyes is not as bright and sharp as the tops, this is a little detrimental to the end result. I do love all the soft focus areas, in particular his lovely soft ears but I also like the abstract quality of his rear end.

Even the ice queen’s pensive expression still manages to look beguiling and appealing. I don’t think this works quite as effectively as it could on a couple of issues, the main one being the bulk of that seat The strong white edge of the seat and that infuriating knob are dominating the foreground to an extent they are detracting. If I crop the foreground out on my screen with more of a square format excluding the lower half it improves the image enormously. Also, if your model had her eyes more towards the outside that would have been more in keeping with the mood of regret you are trying to convey.

Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that fulfils the challenge brief

You do use some interesting optics Eugene, or in this case, bog standard optics made more interesting. Its an interesting concept that has come out reasonably well considering it was a quick hand-held two exposure blend. You will be the first to recognise its shortcomings but the one that spoils it most for me are the blown highlights from the harsh lighting. Having said that thanks for another interesting entry.

Lots of dirt and fluff adhering to a dirty, fluff covered thing. (Seriously, no idea what the thing is.)
